Rosewood

Seamlessly added into an established, midtown neighborhood, Rosewood will provide the feeling of "community" that is often desired when pursuing independent living.

Rosewood has 14 apartment units; each one has a spacious living area, bedroom and kitchen. The first floor community room is easily accessible. It is comfortably furnished and has a television, microwave, kitchen, books, games and other entertainment.

A proclamation from Kay Barnes. Kansas City, MO Mayor was presented at the open house on November 5, 2005. It reads in part:

“WHEREAS, Rosewood is particularly important because of its location, which is in the heart of the City. The urban core is often overlooked, often neglected, and so it is important that a development be established here. The people of Rosewood are working towards achieving independent living.

WHEREAS, each of the (other) locations has a mental health agency to work in partnership with the residents. The sponsoring agency for Rosewood is Truman Behavioral Health and

WHEREAS, the value of such living arrangements is significant…to achieve the ability and wherewithal to live independently.

…I declare November 9, 2005 Rosewood Day”

Katheryn J. Shields, Jackson County Executive issued a Proclamation that read in part:
“…I, Katheryn J. Shields, hereby proclaim on behalf of Jackson County, Missouri, on this day, November 9, 2005 that Community Housing Network be commended for their hard work in providing housing for the mentally ill and congratulate them on the Grand opening of Rosewood Apartments’ new 18-unit apartment building”
